Our Food
At Phoenix Childcare, we understand that the early years are fundamental in shaping a child’s lifelong habits, especially when it comes to food, health, and wellbeing.
We are committed to nurturing a positive relationship with food by encouraging healthy eating in a way that is enjoyable, engaging, and suited to each child’s stage of development. As children grow and develop rapidly, they need a balanced and varied diet to support their energy, learning, and overall well-being. We gently encourage children to explore different foods and to develop healthy, confident attitudes towards eating.
Our approach focuses on the whole child. We place equal importance on nutrition, physical activity, learning, and hygiene, ensuring every child’s individual needs are respected and supported. Through our daily routines, we help children build strong foundations in healthy eating, active play, and self-care.
Our educators play an important role by acting as positive role models and creating a calm, supportive mealtime environment. We also work closely with families, sharing knowledge and offering guidance to support healthy habits both in the setting and at home.
Food & Mealtimes
We provide a carefully planned, nutritious menu on a rotating three-week cycle, designed to offer variety and balance. Menus and full allergen information are available for parents on child paths.
Our hot meals are freshly prepared and supplied by Moon & Spoon, a trusted partner who shares our commitment to high-quality, wholesome nutrition for young children. This ensures that every child receives meals that are both nourishing and enjoyable.
Children attending Phoenix Childcare are offered meals and snacks at regular intervals throughout the day, including:

(Hot Meal)

We understand that children’s appetites can vary, so food and drinks are always available outside of scheduled times if needed. Fresh fruit is also offered if a child is still hungry between meals.
All meals are tailored to suit the age and developmental stage of each child, including appropriate textures for younger children. Portion sizes are age- appropriate, and we ensure that children attending full-day care receive sufficient, nourishing food throughout the day, including at least two meals and two snacks,
with one hot meal included.
